We’re taking a hike! Come join us on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 1:30pm to hike the Owasco Flats 1.6 mile loop trail at the Owasco Flats Nature Reserve. Several board members will be there to meet you and talk about improvements that were made at the Owasco Flats over the past few years. Rain date is December 5th.
Directions: From Moravia, go approximately 3.5 miles up Route 38 (west lake road). From Auburn, take Route 38 about 18 miles to Cascade and the parking area and kiosk is on your left. We will meet at the Route 38 parking area (at the kiosk) at 1:15 pm. The walk takes about an hour.
The trail takes you on the old Lehigh Valley Railroad track, along the Owasco Inlet north up to Owasco Lake and back to the railroad track. The trail is flat, and can be muddy this time of year, so wear your boots. Donuts and cider will be provided at the picnic table, which is located to the left of the parking lot, immediately after our walk. If you are not interested in taking a hike, you are welcome to meet us for refreshments around 2:30 pm. We hope to see you there!
