The Central New York Regional Economic Development Council, as the five-county group received one of two "top performer" awards and $93.8 million in funding for 73 projects.

Cayuga County received $1,973,500 for eight projects. One significant project, was a $75,000 grant for Cayuga County to develop an updated Owasco Lake Watershed Management Plan. The last plan, was done in in 2001 and was overdue for an update.
